Dr. Cohen was raised alongside his three brothers in Alma, GA. He was intrigued by the tools and artistry of dentistry since he received a toy dental kit for Hanukkah when he was eight years old. After high school, he attended UGA then graduated from dental school at UT Memphis in 1988. That same year he began practicing dentistry in Savannah.
Since the beginning, he’s been very active in the Savannah community. He has served on the board of directors and VP for the Girl Scouts Savannah Council. As well as the board of directors of the Savannah Jewish Federation and BB Jacob Synagogue. For many years he chaired the Department of Dentistry at Memorial Hospital. He has also volunteered with the American Diabetes Association where he served as General Chairman for the 2013 “Kiss-A-Pig” campaign.
Dr. Cohen has received advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign®, reconstructive dentistry, laser technology and dental sleep medicine. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Southeastern District Dental Society and the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also on staff at all 3 local hospitals. For many years Dr. Cohen is continually named one of America’s Top Dentists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. He has also been featured as a top dentist of Savannah in Savannah Magazine’s, Best of Savannah Dentists every year since its inception.
In his spare time Dr. Cohen enjoys boating, travel and living in the historic district as well as, spending time with his three children and large extended family.
