Cosmetic dentistry procedures, according to the ADA include braces, porcelain crowns, veneers, bridges and bonding. Legally each procedure can be performed by a general dentist.
- Cosmetic Bonding – A procedure where a tooth colored resin is used to repair a decayed, discolored or chipped tooth.
- Cosmetic Gum Surgery – A procedure that reshapes or removes parts of the gum line to help restore uneven gums.
- Porcelain Veneers – Thin custom made tooth shells that are bonded over the front of a tooth to improve your appearance.
- Teeth Whitening – A procedure that uses a whitening agent that is put on teeth to remove stains. This can be done in office or from a take home kit.
